Welcome back! We are happy to have our students back for another fun year with us! This week, our students will be introducing themselves to their classmates, talking about what they did over summer break, and re-learning school rules. They will be making a “Back-to-School” book that will be sent home sometime next week, so we encourage you to ask your child lots of questions, read their “Back-to-School” book to them and have them talk to you about it. We are also going to be working on recognizing and tracing our names, picking out letters from our names, tracing shapes, and making a paper plate bus!
TIPS AT HOME!
Ask your child questions such as:
What did you read today?
What did you make today?
How do you feel when you go to school?
Also, help your child recognize his or her name by writing it on a piece of paper, pointing out the letters of his or her name, and tracing their finger over each letter.
Point out colors, shapes, letters, numbers that appear all over your home, or whenever you go out together.
The Month Ahead: For the rest of the month of August we will be working on “All About Me,” feelings, and friends. We will also be learning more about shapes, colors, letters, numbers, and practicing our names. We will also start talking about position words such as next to, under, over, behind, in front of, etc.
REMINDERS: Please remember to send your student to school with a backpack with a change of clothes (shirt, pants, socks, underwear/pull-ups). Please include baby wipes if your student is not potty-trained yet.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email us! firstname.lastname@example.org
