School Site Council (SSC)

• Palla Elementary participates in state and federally funded school programs.  These funds are an important part of our school in that they provide monies for special instructional materials and other services not available through our allotted district money.  Schools that receive these funds must insure parents a voice in how this money is spent. A committee is formed of parents and school staff and is called the SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL. This committee will meet during the school year at a convenient time for parents and staff.  You will learn how your school works and how your child will benefit.

• La Escuela Palla participa en los programas financiados con fondos federales y estatales.  Estos fondos son una parte muy importante de nuestra escuela, ya que proporcionan el dinero para los materiales de enseñanza especial y otros servicios que no están disponibles a través del dinero asignado por el distrito.  Las escuelas que reciben estos fondos deben informar a los padres en cómo se gasta este dinero. Un comité está formado por padres y personal escolar y se llama CONSEJO ESCOLAR.  Este comité se reunirá durante el año escolar en un horario conveniente para los padres y el personal. Usted aprenderá cómo funciona su escuela y cómo se beneficiará su hijo.

English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)

• In addition, we are seeking members for an ENGLISH LANGUAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE. It is important that we tell you about the programs we have to help your children learn English and that you tell us what you think.  In order to share ideas and questions and answers, we have an English Learners Advisory Committee. Membership of this committee must be parents of bilingual students.

• Además, estamos buscando miembros para el COMITÉ ASESOR INGLÉS. Es importante decirte acerca de los programas que tenemos para ayudar a sus hijos a aprender Inglés, y que nos digas lo que piensas. Con el fin de compartir ideas, preguntas y respuestas, tenemos un Comité Asesor de Estudiantes de Inglés. La mayoría de los afiliados de este comité deben ser los padres de los estudiantes bilingües.
